We accept all manuscripts for a free review on their viability for publication, but a publishing agreement is NOT a guarantee.

​Proofreading and critique. 1.5 cents per word (15-30 business days), perfect for basic clean-up for the experienced author.

 

Word-by-word inspection of provided copy for the purpose of correcting typographic errors, punctuation and minor grammatical anomalies. No story editing will be provided, other than suggestions to the author to review a specific section.

Copy Editing: 2 cents per word (30-90 business days, based on the length of the manuscript).

​

A basic word-by-word edit that addresses grammar, usage, and consistency issues.

• Check for typographical errors, spelling errors, and consistency aspects, correction of grammatical and linguistic errors, attention to punctuation, and sentence structure.

• Assist with story organization, character development, story flow and readability.

• The editor will note in the manuscript areas of correction or improvement with the purpose of improving reader satisfaction and potential marketing strategy.

Collaborative Copy Editing. 2.0 cents, 2.5 cents, or 3.0 cents per word, dependent upon the complexity of the manuscript and editing requirements.

A contributory edit that focuses on the finer aspects of language—the flow of ideas, transition elements, tone, and style. Includes all of the services performed in YBR Copy Editing plus:

• Correction of awkward constructions, and suggestions to make sentences crisper and tighter by fixing redundancy, readability, and story progression,

• Review of key aspects of the manuscript—the narrative, vocabulary, structure, characterization, style, and development.

• Editor's notes and overall comments to assist with enhancement of text, graphics, book structure and visual recommendations.

Ghostwriting and co-authorships are available.

​Actual price will depend on your final page/word count. Manuscripts are worked on a first come-first served basis. How it works:

4. Receive your professionally edited manuscript in 60-120 business days, depending on the length of the manuscript.

 

You don’t have to place a book order to take advantage of our book editing services. Your editor can offer production and publishing advice, under separate agreement, if you like. All you need is your finished manuscript to get things started.
